Wolves would want £60m+ to sell ‘superb’ star, with transfer window almost over

Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes is a late target for Manchester City – but the club would apparently want in excess of £60 million for the star.

It was reported earlier that Nunes is now being considered by the Premier League champions.

They’ve walked away from a deal for Lucas Paqueta.

And they are currently now eyeing two players – Ebere Eze from Crystal Palace and Nunes.

It’s been suggested Wolves would not want to sell Nunes at this stage of the window.

But there is already word on what kind of money could tempt the club into selling…

Wolves would want in excess of £60 million for Matheus Nunes

This afternoon, talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has claimed that Wolves have not yet received any official bid from City for Nunes.

He says that Wanderers would ideally like to keep him, and it would take a bid in excess of £60 million to test that resolve.

Nunes signed for Wolves for a fee of £42 million all-in last summer

The 24-year-old struggled for consistency in his first season at Molineux, but is clearly one of Wolves’ best players.

Breaking The Lines say that Nunes boasts ‘a superb dribbling technique under pressure’, and this has probably been one of the best things about him since he came to Wolves. He is a brilliant ball carrier and is great at fending people off.

He’s also a player Pep Guardiola has previously branded one of the best players in the world.

Wolves must make it tough for City

The financial situation at Wolves is tough.

But Wolves cannot roll over in any negotiations with City over Nunes.

We are just one week away from the end of the window.

To lose a player like Nunes now would be a major blow, because he’s seen as someone who could really step up after Ruben Neves left the club.

Wolves should realistically be asking for much more than £60 million.
