Wolves haven’t yet received any bid for £29m player, despite claim PL giant came calling

Wolves have not received any bids for full-back Nelson Semedo.

There were suggestions yesterday that Manchester United had made an enquiry about Semedo.

The Red Devils are said to be in the market for an attack-minded right-back who is strong on the overlap.

In Wolves’ first game of the season against United, Semedo had arguably his best ever game in a Wolves shirt.

It is reasonable to suggest that any decent side watching his performance would have then taken an interest in him, he was that good.

But offers have not been forthcoming for £29 million signing Semedo…

No bids for Wolves defender Nelson Semedo

The Express & Star reported this morning that there have been no bids for Semedo.

The publication states that there has been no official approaches for the 29-year-old.

Right at the start of the window, it was reported that Semedo was one of three high-earning, high profile players who could be sold by Wolves. The others being Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes.

At the moment, the only player who is subject to an approach from another club is Nunes.

Manchester City are trying to sign the 24-year-old, and have seen one bid rejected.

There would be zero point selling Semedo

Thankfully it does not appear that Semedo has been the subject of any offer from United.

It would make zero sense to sell the full-back at this stage of the window.

Doing so would leave Wolves with just new signing Matt Doherty and Jonny Castro Otto, whose form has been a concern at the club for a while now.

Nelson Semedo gives honest verdict of his first season at Wolves

Jonny is the right-back that should be departing Wolves this summer, not Semedo – who recently penned a two-year extension.
