Thierry Henry reacts as West Ham United, Manchester City and Brighton in Jeremy Doku transfer battle

Arsenal and Barcelona legend Thierry Henry has waxed lyrical over the West Ham, Manchester City and Brighton target Jeremy Doku.

The Daily Mirror reported in its print edition on Wednesday (23 August, Page 54) that the Seagulls even had a bid rejected for him earlier in the window.

The 21-year-old Belgium international appears set to leave Rennes in order to join Manchester City with Pep Guardiola eyeing a wide attacker.

Looking at the transfer speculation, Henry said, “When you are one on one with him there’s only one thing left to do – pray.

“Rarely in my life have I seen a player come out of a dribble so quickly. It is extraordinary.”

Big signing for City

With the treble winners in for the 21-year-old, the Hammers did not really stand a chance of signing Doku this summer.

They’ve got the financial might and the best manager in the world as an additional draw apart from being the best team in the world.

Had it only been West Ham and Brighton, there was a chance he would’ve moved to the London Stadium but now it seems over.

There’s a good chance that he’s announced as a City player in the coming days with the Hammers fans thinking what might have been.

If Henry is saying that about someone’s dribbling ability, then the player really must be something spectacular.

It remains to be seen how he fits in at the Etihad Stadium due to the number of talented players in every position there.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
