AS Monaco eyeing January move for Tosin Adarabioyo

French giants AS Monaco are expected to push for the services of 25-year-old Fulham star Tosin Adarabioyo in January.

According to Fabrizio Romano, AS Monaco are still keen on having Tosin Adarabioyo in their ranks. The Ligue 1 giants wanted to sign the 25-year-old centre-back in the recently-concluded transfer window. But, they could not strike a deal with Fulham.

AS Monaco are looking to strengthen their defense, and their search for a new center-back is ongoing. They were pursuing Tosin Adarabioyo’s signature during the summer transfer window. They even made a bid for €12 million, with an additional €3 million in add-ons.

However, the agreement fell through because the Cottagers were unable to find a substitute. Joao Palhinha was in a similar circumstance. Bayern Munich was on the verge of signing the Portuguese international. He even had his physical with the German giants, but the transfer was canceled because Fulham failed to find a replacement in time.

Despite their best efforts, Monaco were unable to sign Adarabioyo. They are still interested in the former England youth international. The Ligue 1 club is set to make another bid for his services in the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, the contract of the 25-year-old center-back expires in the summer of 2024. Adarabioyo has no plans to stay at the club longer and will not sign a new contract. As a result, Fulham do not have many options to choose from.

The Cottagers do not want to lose him for free next summer, and they are willing to bargain for his departure. Monaco were quite close to gaining his autographs in the summer, and if no big changes occur, a deal is expected to be completed in the winter transfer window.

Adarabioyo worked his way up through the ranks at Manchester City. Although he was unable to break into their first team, the 25-year-old did establish himself as a first-team regular after joining Fulham in October 2020.

The former England youth international has appeared in over 100 Fulham appearances. However, recent events have not gone as planned, and the 25-year-old is eager to leave the English club.
