Transfer Deadline Day: Potential Leeds signings and 6 players who could leave

We’re here. Deadline day. Leeds United remain busy in the market as they strive to seal some last-ditch signings and grant a few outgoings.

Since their descent into the Championship, Leeds have been forced to sell a few of their quality players. Tyler Adams will probably be the one Whites are most gutted to see depart. Rodrigo is another, alongside a plethora of exceptional talent leaving on loan.

But that hasn’t stopped Leeds from improving. They’ve picked up expert EFL goalscorer Joel Piroe alongside picking up Tottenham duo Djed Spence and Joe Rodon on loan.

Now it’s deadline day – so do Leeds have any more signings left in them?

Leeds United’s potential transfer deadline day signings

Firstly, Ilia Gruev is a deal that could be announced on deadline day. Phil Hay reported that Gruev has already travelled to England ahead of his proposed move to Elland Road, which is set to be completed in the next 24 hours.

The fee looks to be around £5m for the 23-year-old, who will vastly improve the midfield at Elland Road.

This could mean that the deal for Matt O’Riley from Celtic may be off, although Fabrizio Romano said it was a possibility when speaking to Give Me Sport.

Glen Kamara is another that could be officially announced by the club. Fabrizio Romano reported that the player was on his way to undergo medical tests yesterday and this one should go through as a deal between the two clubs was no problem.

Leeds also are in the market for a left-back, with a few names floating about.

Phil Hay told The Square Ball earlier this summer that Leeds would like to sign Charlie Taylor, which has been speculated more so over the last few days due to him not being involved in Burnley’s plans in their first two fixtures.

However, Burnley has given Leeds United no indication that they would enter talks over a deal for a defender – so Leeds may be forced to look elsewhere.

They also wanted Leicester City’s Luke Thomas on loan, but sadly a bid was rejected. It’ll be interesting to see what materialises today.

Six players who could still leave Leeds before the sales slam shut

There’s a lot of potential outgoings at Elland Road.

Firstly, Sam Greenwood looks set to link up with Michael Carrick at Middlesbrough on a season-long loan. He is not in Daniel Farke’s immediate plans, which means he will seek out game time elsewhere.

Phil Hay has reported on The Athletic that three other Leeds United players could join Sam Greenwood in leaving the club.

Darko Gyabi may go on loan – along with Leo Hjelde and Cody Drameh, who are also likely to be packing their bags away from Yorkshire.

Some rumours have stated that Giorginio Rutter could be leaving if the right bid came in, but recent reports suggested that Leeds ‘want to keep at all cost‘ so don’t hold your breath.

Crystal Palace could make a late bid for Luis Sinisterra, according to a report from Football Transfers – but again, nothing concrete in this one.

It’s going to be a long day… let’s see how it all pans out.
