Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn is likely out for the rest of the season as he continues to recover from injuries that have plagued him in the latter half of the season. Dunn’s absence dates back to April 3 when he was sidelined after an elbow to the face from Los Angeles Kings forward Alex Laferriere, which resulted in his ejection from the game. Despite hopes of him rejoining the team for the final road trip, Kraken general manager Ron Francis stated that there are no plans for Dunn to return at this point.

Dunn has been working on his recovery in Seattle, but the team doesn’t anticipate his return soon, considering the slow progress he’s made so far. While the exact nature of Dunn’s injuries hasn’t been disclosed, it’s believed he may be dealing with a shoulder issue and a possible concussion. His injury struggles began earlier in the season, notably after a hit from behind by Calgary Flames forward Martin Pospisil on March 4.

Before his injuries, Dunn was having a strong season, similar to his previous MVP performance. Despite only playing 59 games, he managed to tally 11 goals and 35 assists, placing third in points for the team behind Jared McCann and Oliver Bjorkstrand. His current statistics mirror his performance from the previous season, where he played 81 games and recorded 64 points.
