NFL Trade Deadline: Eagles must face Chase Young again in 2023, Giants hysterically miss the bulls eye

The Eagles have had a few run-ins with Chase Young, and now they’re guaranteed a third this season. The Giants… Well… They’re still the Giants.

Some guys just irritate us. It isn’t because they’re bad people or anything. Sometimes, it’s that ‘they’re just too good and they don’t wear the Philadelphia Eagles’ jersey’ thing. Since he entered the league in 2020 as the second-overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, Philly hasn’t played versus a Washington Commanders team that has had Chase Young available very often, yet he still manages to irritate us. How is that even possible?

We’ll ask the question AND answer it. Doggone it. We’ll tell you why. It’s because he’s too damn good when he is out there.

Young has missed four of a possible eight games versus Philly as a member of the Commanders. He has played in four others. Washington is 2-2 versus the Birds in those four games. The two most recent came this season.

Sadly, however, Philly isn’t done facing Young yet in 2023.

NFL trade deadline: Eagles will face Chase Young again in Week 13 as former Commanders star joins the 49ers.

10 total tackles including two for a loss of yardage… 3.5 sacks… Six quarterback hits… A forced fumble… A fumble recovery… That’s Chase Young’s career stat total versus the Eagles in four games.

As nice as it is to see him leave the NFC East, there’s just one issue. He has joined an extended rival, the San Francisco 49ers which means there’s a chance that Philly could see this joker two more times this season.

Don’t take our word for it. Just ask NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The Birds face the Niners at Lincoln Financial Field in Week 13, and one never knows. They could cross paths with them again in the playoffs.

Jordan Mailata did a nice job versus Young in Week 8. Add this guy, however, to a San Francisco defensive line that fields. Javon Hargrave, Nick Bosa, and Arik Armstead, and we’re talking about a potential Eagles/49ers war in the trenches.

More NFL trade deadline news: The New York Giants make a mockery of themselves again.

How about a joke to close this one? If you’re looking for a reason to smile, here it is. The New York Giants are still doing New York Giants things.

Discussing their apathetic plights would require another story, but here’s something you might find to be funny.

Seriously… What do you say after that? How about this for an attempt. Whenever you say your prayers before turning in and calling it a night, please pray that this current iteration of the Giants never leaves us.
