Tottenham ‘will still go for £80m striker’ in January despite Brennan Johnson transfer

The north Londoners waited until the last minute to recruit Johnson from Nottingham Forest in a move worth more than £45 million, with the Welshman signing a six-year contract.

Johnson will be entrusted with filling Harry Kane’s gap at Tottenham, since Richarlison is yet to score in the Premier League this season. More attacking reinforcements could arrive in January if Tottenham can recruit another striker when the transfer window reopens.

According to football.london, Tottenham is showing ‘certain interest’ in signing Brentford forward Ivan Toney in the future. Toney is now suspended for betting violations but will be permitted to return to training next month, however he will not be able to play in any games until January.
