Agbonlahor labels Tottenham man as ‘the weak link’, says Postecoglou needs a ‘better’ player

Tottenham Hotspur picked up a 2-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

Goals from James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski wrapped up an impressive victory for the North London outfit away from home.

Spurs have now made an impressive start to the Premier League campaign winning two of the three league matches with the other game ending in a draw.

Apart from their ability to pick up results, Tottenham have impressed with their exciting brand of football under Ange Postecoglou as well.

Despite the departure of Harry Kane, Tottenham have looked efficient in the attack. However, the performances of Brazilian international Richarlison have left Gabriel Agbonlahor frustrated.

The former Premier League striker slammed the former Everton man on talkSPORT after the game.

Agbonlahor believes that the Brazilian had enough chances to get on the score sheet against the Cherries and Kane would’ve scored a hat-trick with those opportunities.

“I look at Richarlison, he’s the weak link,” he told talkSPORT. “And I feel that going forward for the rest of the season, you’re going to need a better striker. Harry Kane scores probably a hat-trick today, you win 5-0.

“The chances Richarlison had, the one he ran through on, took too many touches and just his hold-up play is not right. It came to the stage where Ange had to take him off after 55 minutes because he kept giving the ball away. And you didn’t even have a striker to bring on.

“He brought on a defender and midfielder because he was that bad.”

Spurs big money to sign the player fro

m Everton last summer but Richarlison has not been able to live up to the expectations.

He was expected to score goals consistently for the North London outfit, but he is clearly struggling to hit top form. He has scored just three goals in 38 appearances for the Londoners so far.

It will be interesting to see if the Brazilian can get back to his best in the coming weeks. In the absence of Kane, Postecoglou will need his key players to step up and deliver consistently.
