Tottenham Hotspur sends two players out on loan

Deals completed for two young talents, as Troy Parrott heads to Rotterdam while Alfie Devine joins Port Vale on one-year spells.

Parrott’s previous campaign was spent in the English Championship for Preston North End, where he scored an underwhelming three goals in 32 appearances.

In contrast, his 21/22 spell for MK Dons saw him net eight goals and seven assists in 41 appearances in League One, so it’s fair to say last year’s performance was a significant drop-off.

The pressure will now be on as he looks to help Eredivisie competitors Excelsior, who impressed in their first two matches with a 2-2 draw against Dutch giants Ajax and a 4-3 victory over NEC.

The Englishman has done nothing but impress recently, scoring two goals at the U-20 World Cup and featuring prominently for the U-21 squad.

Devine, who can play all over the pitch, is showing considerable promise in terms of a future at Spurs, and the challenge for him will be to continue to meet expectations during his first loan spell.

All in all, these two will be key players to watch this year.

As SB Nation reports, while Parrott is looking increasingly to be a player that we could squeeze profits out of as his value rises over the next year, Devine is definitely one to keep an eye on and whose talent we should retain.

If he performs well over the next few months, he could feature in a rotational capacity next season.
