The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-signed defenseman Declan Carlile to a two-year, two-way contract, as announced by vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois today.
Carlile, 24, played 61 games for the Syracuse Crunch last season, scoring seven goals and accumulating 27 points. He tied for first among Crunch defensemen in goals and was second in assists (20), points, plus/minus (+10), and power-play assists (6). Carlile also participated in all eight Calder Cup Playoff games with Syracuse, recording one goal and five points, tying for the second-most among all Crunch players.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound defenseman made his NHL debut with the Lightning on January 4, 2024, against the Minnesota Wild, where he blocked two shots and delivered one hit in 11:27 of ice time in his only NHL game.
Originally from Hartland, Michigan, Carlile was undrafted out of Merrimack College before signing his first contract with the Lightning on March 16, 2022.
