Jeffries had five points (2-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three rebounds, and one steal in 13 minutes during Sunday’s 121-89 loss to the Pacers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Jeffries made a rare appearance as the Knicks went deep into their rotation. The Pacers dominated from start to finish, so even Tom Thibodeau couldn’t justify playing his starters for extended minutes. This isn’t something fans should expect to see often in the postseason.

Jeffries signed a contract with the Knicks on Monday, presumably a rest-of-season deal, as he’s already signed two 10-day contracts with the team. He’s made 13 appearances for New York this season, averaging just 2.6 minutes per game. Jeffries became a free agent Sunday after his second 10-day contract with the Knicks expired, according to Keith Smith of Spotrac.com. To retain him, the Knicks would need to sign him to a rest-of-season deal, but it’s unclear if the organization intends to do so.

Jeffries agreed to a second 10-day contract with the Knicks on Wednesday, according to Michael Scotto of USA Today. Initially, the Knicks did not re-sign him when his first 10-day deal expired on March 3, but he rejoined the team to fill an open roster spot. Over his 10-day deals and standard NBA contract earlier this season, Jeffries has made 13 appearances, averaging just 2.6 minutes per game. He began the season as a member of the 15-man roster before being waived in December and later re-signing on a pair of 10-day deals.

Unless New York opts to bring him back on another 10-day deal or another team signs him, Jeffries will likely stay within the organization as a member of the G League’s Westchester Knicks. He was assigned to Westchester on Friday and posted 28 points (10-16 FG, 6-10 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block in 33 minutes during a win over the Motor City Cruise.
