The Dolphins have signed former New South Wales

The Dolphins announced that Pangai Junior will start training with them on Monday, following their bye in Round 14.

“I am really looking forward to Tevita getting back on the field and I am so glad it is with the Dolphins,” said Dolphins coach Wayne Bennett. “He is a good player that I have always enjoyed coaching, and I think he will be a strong addition to our squad.”

Meanwhile, the Knights have granted forward Jed Cartwright an immediate release to join Super League club Hull FC. Cartwright, who joined the Knights this year after four seasons with the Rabbitohs, will team up with his father John, who is set to coach Hull FC from 2025 onwards.

Star fullback Tyrell Sloan has extended his contract with the Dragons until at least the end of the 2026 season. The local junior has played 48 games for the Red V since his debut in 2021, scoring 25 tries.

“Tyrell’s an exciting young player who continues to learn and improve every week,” said Dragons coach Shane Flanagan. “His efforts to improve all parts of his game this year have been really pleasing. We’re looking forward to seeing him continue to develop at the Dragons over the coming seasons.”

Jason Saab will remain with the Sea Eagles until at least the end of the 2029 NRL Telstra Premiership season after signing a contract extension. Already committed until the end of 2026, Saab and Manly have agreed on a new deal extending his stay on the Northern Beaches by three years.

This announcement follows the Sea Eagles’ recent signing of Jake Simpkin from the Wests Tigers on a contract through to the end of the 2026 season, effective immediately. Simpkin, who was off-contract at the end of the year, had played 41 NRL games for the Wests Tigers since his debut in 2021, including four matches this season. This move comes after first-choice hooker Lachlan Croker suffered a neck injury in Round 9, currently preventing a safe return.
