Tennessee Vols Football Announces New Lineups for 2025 Season..

Excitement is building in Knoxville as the Tennessee Volunteers unveil their official lineups for the 2025 football season. With a fresh mix of veteran leadership and rising stars, Head Coach Josh Heupel and his staff appear ready to make a serious push in the SEC this fall.

At quarterback, all eyes are on sophomore phenom Jaxon Wallace, who takes over the starting role after a standout freshman campaign. Known for his mobility and poise, Wallace brings a dual-threat dynamic to the offense that fans have been craving. In the backfield, senior running back Darnell Bishop returns to anchor the ground game, supported by speedy newcomer Treyvon Ellis, a four-star recruit out of Georgia.

The wide receiver corps remains one of the Vols’ strongest units, led by junior Isaiah Kirkland and sophomore Malik Freeman—both deep threats with game-breaking speed. On the defensive side, linebacker Tyler McGee headlines a fast and physical front seven, while defensive backs Jaylen Ross and Keon Mitchell aim to lock down the secondary.

Perhaps the most surprising development is the shift in the offensive line, with three underclassmen earning starting spots—proof of Tennessee’s faith in its young talent. Coach Heupel praised their offseason growth and said the team is “further along than expected at this stage.”

With a schedule that includes early tests against Florida and Alabama, the Vols will need to gel quickly. But if the spring scrimmages and training camp buzz are any indication, this team might be poised for something special.
