AC Milan had everything agreed with Leicester City over Patson Daka but the deadline day deal ended up falling apart due to one key reason, a report claims.

Milan’s deal for Porto’s Mehdi Taremi fell through on the last day of the window, forcing them to make a last-minute move for another striker, with Daka appearing to be the preferred candidate.

On the final day of the transfer window, Sky reported that Milan had achieved an agreement with Leicester on the figures and formula of the operation with Daka over personal terms.

However, rumors of difficulties spread, and Milan opted to turn to Rafa Mir of Sevilla, and then to Luka Jovic, who was officially declared on a free transfer in the final hour of the window.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MN24), Daka would have arrived on a paid loan with a €12 million option to buy if the clubs had agreed on a deal.

However, the Zambia international’s non-EU status exacerbated matters because there was not enough time before the window expired to have his visa and work permit sorted out.
