After Leeds United had late bid rejected, 27-year-old could make move to new European club

Several center backs were attempted to be signed by Leeds United during the last window, but they were unsuccessful.

The Whites’ top objective was to sign another right-back, and they succeeded in doing so in the very last seconds of the transfer season when Connor Roberts joined on loan from Burnley.

But at one point, it appeared as though Leeds would be adding a central defender in an effort to capture players like Ben Godfrey, Joe Worrall, and Harry Souttar. Another person for whom an offer was turned down was Chris Mepham.

None of those players left their respective teams in the end, but Joe Worrall seems like he might be on the verge of doing so across Europe.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Trabzonspor has now made Nottingham Forest a “formal offer” for the 27-year-old and is working to finalize a deal.

Worrall nears Turkey relocation
In contrast to English clubs, Turkish clubs have until February 9 to finalize any outstanding transfers. This means Trabzonspor has one more week to finalize Worrall’s transfer.

The night before the deadline, Leeds actually witnessed an offer rejected by Forest; the Whites had attempted to sign him on loan by paying a fee and paying for all of his salary.

But Forest refused to allow him to go on loan, turning down offers from Sheffield United and Leeds before deciding to change their minds. At that point, it was too late.

Ultimately, Leeds opted not to acquire a central defender, which is understandable given that Charlie Cresswell and Liam Cooper both decided to remain at Elland Road. Additionally demonstrating his potential as a dependable contributor is Ethan Ampadu.

Worrall appears to be ready for a whole new challenge in his career, one that the Turkish league will undoubtedly present.
