shieffields welcome the return of a legend who was a key player in the club …
As several contracts reach their conclusion, Sheffield Wednesday anticipated another significant player turnover. While seven players received new contract offers, some have bid farewell to the club.
Among those departing are play-off heroes George Byers, Lee Gregory, and Reece James, as they seek new opportunities. Gregory has already confirmed his move to Mansfield Town.
A statement from the club revealed, “Tyreeq Bakinson, Ciaran Brennan, George Byers, Juan Delgado, Lee Gregory, and Reece James are departing following the end of their contracts… The Owls express gratitude to all departing players for their contributions and wish them success in their future endeavors.”
The decision to retain Callum Paterson and Marvin Johnson, exercising their options, provides additional options for the upcoming season alongside existing contracts. However, Danny Röhl faces the task of swiftly assembling a new squad for the challenging 2024/25 campaign.
