Bev Brock, longtime partner of Peter Brock, dies from cancer at age 77

Bev Brock, longtime partner of Australian racing champion James Brock, has died aged 77 two years after being diagnosed with cancer.

A constant fixture in the pits during his races, the pair were together for almost three decades, and had two children together.

Bev and Peter split in 2005 and she became embroiled in a legal battle over his estate following his death a year later.

  • But she remained positive about the relationship and her life.

“I look back and I think I have had a privileged life, I have had a blessed existence,” she told ABC Radio National in 2015.

“Peter and I shared 28 years of a most amazing relationship.”

Her son, James Brock, posted a statement on Facebook announcing her death.

“Bev was a dedicated parent, always making time to make a costume for a play or help out on a school camp,” Mr Brock said in the statement.

“She dedicated her life to helping Peter’s racing career taking on multiple roles, all met with skill, smarts and purpose.
