There’s some good Alabama football news the day before the first road game for the Crimson Tide.
No. 4 Alabama is set to get its left tackle back.
Kadyn Proctor plans to play against Wisconsin, sources tell AL.com. The sophomore missed the first two games of the season with a shoulder injury. Alabama (2-0) is set to face Wisconsin (2-0) on Saturday (11 a.m. CT, FOX) “He’s been practicing,” Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said on the SEC coaches teleconference Wednesday. “He’s doing well, doing a good job and really was heading in a really good direction right at the very end of last week and turned the corner I think there, and is in a good spot here, done a nice job here in the first two days of practice.”He earned his starting left tackle spot back over the course of preseason camp and was prepared to start in the season opener against Western Kentucky. Then, he sustained a shoulder injury in pregame warmups. Elijah Pritchett replaced him in the starting lineup for that game on short notice.
Then in the second game against South Florida, Pritchett was dealing with an injury himself. So, left guard Tyler Booker got the start at left tackle. That brough Geno VanDeMark into the starting lineup at left guard. The offensive line struggled overall against the Bulls, tallying a handful of penalties, specifically holding. The group was one of the main issues in a game where the Crimson Tide struggled for much of the game.
