‘Without pain or glory’ – Call for Wolves player to be dropped from squad, ‘everything indicates’ rival will be chosen

Without pain or glory,’ a call for a Wolves player to be cut from the squad; ‘everything indicates’ a competitor will be selected

In July, Barcelona announced they’d agreed a deal to sign Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense. When the 18-year-old actually arrives depends on a few factors, not least the Blaugrana’s ability to get his purchase through their accounts in a way which pleases La Liga.

Nonetheless, the Catalan media now sees him as a Barcelona player in the making, and they will fight for him.

According to Sport, Brazil manager Diniz made a mistake by leaving the kid out of his team for the recent international break, instead including Richarlison and Wolves forward Matheus Cunha.

Cunha has appeared in five games for Wolves this season, scoring one against Crystal Palace. Despite not scoring during the international break, he only played 19 minutes against Bolivia.
According to Sport, ‘everything indicates’ that Vitor Roque will be in the next Brazil squad, possibly at the cost of the Wolves player.

Cunha went through the last call-up ‘without pain or glory’, according to their aim of talking others down in order to hype the Barcelona star… In other words, he had no influence.
