WEST HAM’S £30M ACE MAY BE OFFERED £500K-A-WEEK DEAL AT NEW CLUB THIS WEEK

Nayef Aguerd has reportedly been offered the chance to earn ten times his current wage at Al Ittihad but West Ham United have no interest in letting their Premier League stopper leave.

With the Saudi transfer window open until Thursday, David Moyes will be hoping that Nayef Aguerd follows in the footsteps of Sergio Ramos.

Before making an emotional return to Sevilla, the Real Madrid icon rejected down a lucrative offer from Al Ittihad. Who said romance was extinct in the modern game?

With Al Ittihad now focusing on Aguerd – West Ham United’s £30 million centre-half apparently offered the chance to change his £50,000-a-week contract into a £500,000-a-week deal – the Moroccan’s loyalty is set to be put to the test in the next 48 hours or so (Spotrac).

Al Ittihad are looking for a centre-half after losing Ahmed Hegazi, formerly of West Bromwich Albion, to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, according to Goal. However, West Ham are unlikely to let Aguerd leave. Understandably so, given his importance to Moyes’ ambitions and the fact that the Hammers would be unable to bring in a replacement with the English market closed until January.

West Ham’s Nayef Aguerd is a Saudi Arabia target

There are parallels between West Ham’s Aguerd predicament and Liverpool’s with Mo Salah.

A £200 million bid for a player in his 30s may be too good to pass up. Even someone as influential and bright as Salah. However, Liverpool would have to wait until January to reinvest that massive profit in a player capable of assuming the ‘Egyptian King’s Anfield throne.

“I never had any doubts about his commitment to this club,” Jurgen Klopp said after Salah scored in Sunday’s 3-0 thrashing of Aston Villa. “You have no idea how much commotion the world has caused, but how calm we are in the face of it.” He is our player and wishes to play for us.

“He didn’t tell me (he’s staying).” He didn’t have to, though. He communicates through his training, performances, and behavior. This week was filled with meetings. The meetings were not about what we had done previously. It was about what we were going to do in the future.”

Aguerd has started three of West Ham’s four league games so far, missing just the 3-1 win over Brighton due to suspension. He even scored in that fantastic home win over Chelsea.
