Max Verstappen’s girlfriend receives death threats as she issues emotional statement

Max Verstappen’s girlfriend Kelly Piquet has opened up on the abuse and death threats she has received on social media.

The girlfriend of Max Verstappen and the daughter of three-time Formula One world winner Nelson Piquet, Kelly Piquet, has delivered an emotional statement after acknowledging that she has faced hate and death threats online due to her opinions on the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Piquet has been vociferous in her calls for peace and a cease-fire on Instagram.

Piquet released a lengthy statement on her Instagram story as she explained her activism online, while urging her followers who disagree with her to take their attention elsewhere as the model and motorsport columnist revealed that she had received “highly abusive language” and death threats.

She wrote: “I can’t stop thinking about all pain, suffering, mourning, trauma, shock, despair that the Palestinians in Gaza are living through right now. To imagine all the young innocent souls that have been lost, entire families wiped out, parent-less children, and parents who’ve had to hug their dead children.

“I’m also thinking about the hostages that are in the hands of Hamas, and thankful to see that four of them have now been safely released. But the images and videos I am witnessing daily from the horror happening in Gaza is beyond comprehension.
