Roobroeck was selected by the Rangers as the 178th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2023 NHL Draft.

The 19-year-old center has spent the last three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, with the last two seasons playing for the Oshawa Generals. During his 136 games with Oshawa, Roobroeck tallied 125 points (41 goals, 84 assists). He ended the 2023-24 season ranked second on the team in points (72) and third in assists (46).

The London, Ontario native also led his team in scoring during the OHL playoffs, contributing 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists) in 26 playoff games.

Dylan Roobroeck comes from a hockey family. His brother, Ryan, is a prominent forward for the Niagara IceDogs in the OHL and is projected to be a high pick in the 2026 NHL Draft at 16 years old.

Steven Ellis, a prospect analyst for Daily Faceoff, shared his thoughts on Dylan:

“His playmaking ability is what stands out to me,” Ellis said. “He has excellent hands and enjoys manipulating defenders, similar to his brother Ryan. But what really distinguishes Dylan is his hockey IQ, a trait you’d expect from a forward with bottom-six potential. He just hustles out there.”

Dylan is also notable for his size, standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 205 pounds.

The Rangers, winners of the Presidents’ Trophy, defeated the Washington Capitals and the Carolina Hurricanes in the first two rounds of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. New York will face the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Final at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.
