Birmingham City dealt injury blow during QPR clash

Birmingham City news from BirminghamLive as Blues boss John Eustace was forced into a change during the first half of Friday night’s Championship fixture against Queens Park Rangers

Birmingham City’s injury situation increased at St Andrew’s on Friday night when another offensive player was knocked down in the first half.

Keshi Anderson, who has started every Championship game since signing as a free agent in the summer, was forced off against Queen’s Park Rangers two minutes before halftime after pulling up. The 28-year-old went down without a fight and was replaced by Oliver Burke, who had been demoted to the bench after starting against Preston in midweek.

Anderson exchanged handshakes with John Eustace before going down the sideline and into the tunnel, becoming the Blues’ latest injury concern. Head coach Eustace is already without Ethan Laird and George Hall, and Tyler Roberts is out with a calf injury.

It is not clear what Anderson has done but he cut a frustrated figure after a bright start to his Blues career. The hosts went into half time still at 0-0 despite having some bright attacking moments, with Jay Stansfield looking particularly dangerous.
