4star QB flips commitment over…
Air Noland announced on Monday, December 16, that he would be entering the transfer portal and leaving the Ohio State Buckeyes. With that, it causes plenty of speculation as to where Noland could end up, and with that, he will go to the Clemson Tigers.
Noland didn’t see any playing time during his freshman season as he was buried on the depth chart behind Will Howard, Julian Sayin, and Devin Brown. With Sayin projected to be the starter in 2025, Noland decided to transfer for a better chance to start. Coming out of high school, Noland was ranked 56th in the 2024 class as a four-star recruit, and was the eighth-best player coming out of Georgia. Noland did showcase his dual-threat ability in the Spring Game, as he completed five-of-seven passes for 47 yards and ran five times for 42 yards. Noland in high school flashed the ability to process defenses at a high rate and natural arm talent with adding the right amount of touch on the ball to lead receivers away from defenders while reaching all levels of the field.
With the talent of Noland he would be ideal for Clemson. With Cade Klubnik currently set to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, and Blake Hebert decommitting from Clemson, the Tigers are currently in search of a starting quarterback for the 2025 season. Creating a perfect opportunity for Noland to transfer and be the starter right away.
Dabo Swinney doesn’t typically use the transfer portal, but for Noland, he may consider changing his ways. The Tigers faced a less than ideal 2024 season due to Swinney not adding to the roster with the transfer portal to address needs. With one of those biggest needs now being the quarterback spot, it will cause him to change his approach. Swinney also tried recruiting Noland before to Clemson before he signed with Ohio State, with already knowing the talent Noland has, it would create an easy connection for Swinney to get him to commit to Clemson this time around.
