Player wolves wanted to sign now left out of squad just hours after deadline

Wolves made a bid for Boulaye Dia on Thursday, but it was rejected by Salernitana, thus he is no longer in their team.

Along with Southampton’s Che Adams, the forward was high on Wolves’ priority list in the forward position.

Wolves had made a loan offer to Dia, with the intention of making the move permanent at the end of the season.

According to Sébastien Denis, this offer was rejected by the Serie A club, but the player was not pleased.

Dia was said to be interested on coming to Molineux and was consequently devastated when his team turned him down.

Dia was left out of the Salernitana squad.
Dia’s determination to depart has clearly irritated Salernitana, as he has been omitted from the club’s roster for their Sunday encounter.

“Salernitana have not called up Boulaye Dia for tomorrow’s game due to his reaction when the club decided not to sell him to Wolves.”

“The official bid, which was revealed here yesterday, was submitted on Thursday night and rejected by Salernitana.”

Fabrizio Romano stated it was because of his reaction to the rejection.

He wrote on X:

Could Wolves revisit a deal?

With Dia evidently unhappy at Salernitana, Wolves could return for him in January, when the Italians may be more amenable to a move.

Wolves didn’t get their striker, therefore Dia will be hoping he stays on their radar until the next window.

The one exception is that if Sasa gets going and begins producing, the striker spot might be filled.

However, if Old Gold still needs a forward in January, Dia will be at the top of their list.
