The Carolina Panthers enacted several changes to their roster on Friday, as they continue to shape their lineup for the 2024 offseason. They inked contracts with 19 undrafted free agents, who are set to showcase their skills this weekend during the rookie minicamp.

This group, alongside the seven-man draft class, will hit the field for practice on Friday and Saturday. Notably, the draft class features first-round pick Xavier Legette, a promising wide receiver.

The roster of undrafted rookies includes players such as DE Popo Aumavae from Oregon, WR Jalen Coker from Holy Cross, and OT Jeremiah Crawford from Tennessee, among others.

In preparation for the influx of undrafted rookies joining the rookie minicamp, the Panthers had to part ways with seven players. Among those released were running backs Tarik Cohen and Spencer Brown, tight end Chris Pierce, wide receiver Jalen Camp, offensive lineman Ilm Manning, defensive tackle Raequan Williams, and cornerback AJ Parker. These players had varying degrees of experience with the team, some having been on the roster or practice squad in the previous season.

Of note, Cohen, a North Carolina native and NC A&T product, was striving for a comeback after grappling with injuries that interrupted his tenure as a Pro Bowl returner with the Bears. His last regular season game was in 2020.

Additionally, the Panthers will evaluate four tryout players during the minicamp. This group includes Irish kicker Rory Beggan, who is part of the International Pathway Program, quarterback Sean Chambers from Montana State, and guards Justin Shaffer, a former sixth-round pick of the Falcons from Georgia, and Greg Anderson from Monmouth.
