Four St. Louis Battlehawks already noticed by NFL teams

The future is bright for four St. Louis Battlehawks players.

Hakeem Butler, one of the four, was named the “2024 UFL Offensive Player of the Year” and ended the season with 45 catches, a league best 652 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

Kicker Andre Szmyt, running back Jacob Saylors, and linebacker Willie Harvey also caught the NFL’s attention with their UFL play.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the Dallas Cowboys were having Willie Harvey in for a workout on Tuesday. Harvey was a bright spot on the St. Louis defense with the league best 78 tackles including nine tackles for a loss and four sacks. He also forced two fumbles and recovered one.

This past season Jacob Saylors ran for 461 yards, five touchdowns, earning the starting job over former Giant Wayne Gallman during the Battlehawks season.

And finally, sources said kicker Andre Szmyt worked out for the Washington Commanders on Tuesday, who have been eager to bring in competition for Ramiz Ahmed after releasing Brandon McManus last week. Szmyt made 19 of his 21 field goal kicks including a season best 61 yard field goal, the second longest in UFL.

This Sunday, the city of St. Louis will play host to the inaugural UFL Championship game between the San Antonio Brahmas and Birmingham Stallions. Kickoff is at 4:00 p.m. local time. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported ticket prices are as low as $4 for the Championship game.
