Spurs feels like home for Olga | Matchday programme exclusive

Finnish international Olga Ahtinen is hoping to build on her strong start to the new women’s season when we face Reading in the Continental League Cup this evening, with the player herself encouraged by the kind welcome she’s received since her arrival.

Olga joined us from Swedish club Linköpings in August and has adjusted in fast, helped by a welcoming team environment and a familiar face in international team-mate Eveliina Summanen, as well as a few new additions joining this summer.

The midfielder is at ease in Lilywhite and has already proven her worth with two appearances in the Women’s Super League. maiden, she was in the center of midfield in our spirited 2-1 loss to defending champions Chelsea before scoring her maiden goal for the Club with a stunning opening in our 3-1 home triumph against Bristol City on Sunday to commence our league campaign under head coach Robert Vilahamn.

Vice captain Olga stated in tonight’s matchday programme for the match against Reading at Brisbane Road:

“I’m pleasantly surprised by how lovely and welcoming everyone has been; it’s made me feel at ease.”

“Because I’ve known Eveliina for a long time and we speak the same language, she’s helped me settle in.” Then it’s been extremely simple to be with Luana (Buhler) and Barbora (Votikova), because we’re similar ages and joined together, and they’re not from England either, so they’re going through similar things as me. I’ve also spent a significant amount of time with Molly (Bartrip).

“It was a little surreal making my league debut because the entire team was present and calm, we weren’t too stressed, we knew what we needed to do, and it felt good.” When we were walking out, there was a great ambiance created by the fire display, which made me feel like I had truly arrived.”

Tonight’s matchday programme versus Reading will be available for purchase at the game, as will this season’s Spurs Women’s editions.
