Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Nottingham Forest manager Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink, is a hidden gem. In the summer, the kid joined City Ground from Chelsea.
The 22-year-old hopes to restart his career after it has stalled in previous years. Hudson-Odoi has had a promising start to his career at Forest, and he has previously worked with Steve Cooper.
Hasselbaink undoubtedly has a connection to Chelsea, having played for them in the past. He was grilled about Hudson-Odoi over the weekend, now that he’s joined Forest.
Hasselbaink feels Hudson-Odoi can make an impact at Forest.
On Sunday, the pundit was part of the telecast as Forest drew 1-1 with Brentford. Michael Dawson was with him, and Hasselbaink opted to comment on Hudson-Odoi.
He believes Hudson-Odoi may now flourish at Nottingham Forest after a disappointing spell at Chelsea. The forward has the talent, but he just needs a break or two to fall his way.
“We all know, you know, he came through at Chelsea, we know what he’s got,” Hasselbaink told Sky Sports. He was loaned out to Leverkusen, but it didn’t work out.
“Hopefully, he’s found a home here, a home where he can produce the results that we all know he’s capable of.”
“He likes to get into one-on-one situations.” We know he can do a lot of harm in a one-on-one situation.
“We saw against Burnley that he enjoys shooting at goal, and we want to see more of that.”
“He had a bit of quality and a moment of brilliance in that game.”
The man signed from Chelsea has been decent in the games he’s played so far at Forest. It was a shame that he had to come off when the Reds went down to 10 men on Sunday.
Hudson-Odoi simply needs to play games more frequently. By doing so, he will appear sharper and faster, and he will have a greater influence at the club.
Cooper is the player’s ideal manager at this point in his career. Hudson-Odoi might prosper under his tutelage at Forest, and ideally he can stay fit and stay on the squad.
