Mn: The latest on Maignan and Loftus-Cheek after injury problems

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli was forced to make two changes during the second half of the 0-0 draw against Newcastle United because of injury concerns.

According to the most recent MilanNews report, there is some alleviation about Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s physical condition. The English midfielder was spotted mouthing ‘just cramp’ after beating Tonali to the byline and crossing, and this has now been confirmed.

Mike Maignan, on the other hand, slumped to the floor away from the ball in pain and had to make way for Marco Sportiello 16 minutes from the end. The French goalie was substituted owing to an injury in his left flexor, and he will be evaluated further.

During a post-game interview with Sky, Stefano Pioli was asked about the status of both players, and he seemed more positive about Maignan.

“Maignan sensed something, he says little, and I trust him.” Loftus-Cheek is merely tired and cramped. “It’s clear that we play too much, and the players who have played for the national team increase the risk of injury,” he remarked (via MilanNews).
