Michigan Wolverines Football Announces New 2025 Lineups…

The Michigan Wolverines have officially announced their 2025 football lineup, and it’s clear the team is embracing a new era with confidence and ambition. Under head coach Sherrone Moore, Michigan is reloading with a mix of top recruits, key transfers, and experienced returners.

The biggest buzz surrounds the quarterback position. With J.J. McCarthy heading to the NFL and Alex Orji transferring, the spotlight shifts to Bryce Underwood — the nation’s No. 1 recruit who flipped from LSU to Michigan. His arrival signals a new era in Ann Arbor. Also joining the QB room is Chase Herbstreit, son of ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit, adding depth and football IQ to the offense.

Michigan also secured a major win in the backfield by landing former Alabama running back Justice Haynes. After a strong 2024 season with 448 rushing yards and seven touchdowns, Haynes is expected to be a focal point in the Wolverines’ offense.

On defense, Michigan added size and strength with transfers Damon Payne (Alabama) and Tre Williams (Clemson). These two linemen bring SEC experience and should anchor a dominant defensive front.

With offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey stepping in and Wink Martindale continuing to lead the defense, the Wolverines are building a team ready to compete for a spot in the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff.
