Crosby Shares Message to Kids About Gaining Confidence

On Tuesday, Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby had the chance to speak at Sunrise Mountain High School at an event hosted by EA Sports Madden NFL. Our own Hondo Carpenter, Sr. had the chance to attend the event and catch up with Crosby on many subjects. One of the subjects discussed was the importance of having confidence as a young athlete. Crosby had the chance to share his thoughts and gave a strong message to the young athletes at the local high school.

“It’s super important. I know as a younger guy, I wasn’t the most athletic; I was still growing into my body, and confidence was something that I struggled with at the time. You know, having a good support system but knowing how to gain confidence is strictly from the work you do every day. You have to do it consistently; you must show up daily with a mindset to improve, an attitude, and action-based principles.

“That is what the most important thing to me is showing up every single day and trying to show these kids I wasn’t a five-star recruit; I didn’t just fall into a position where I was on a professional team, it started with the work every single day and putting my best foot forward, just trying to improve. It took years and years and years to get to this level, and I’m still looking for improvement. I know I can still get better, so that’s what I shared with these kids.”
