Mets Predicted To Steal $40 Million Dodgers World Series Hero In Shocking Move…

The New York Mets were heavily connected to a blockbuster trade for Chicago White Sox ace Garrett Crochet before Crochet was dealt to the Boston Red Sox.

Following this whiff, the Mets need to find an additional pitcher or two to slot into the starting rotation. Last offseason, the Mets opted to pursue reclamation projects for their starting rotation with Sean Manaea and Luis Severino and it worked out great. This offseason, they could try a very similar strategy.Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler

FanSided’s Zachary Rotman recently urged the Mets to pursue Los Angeles Dodgers World Series hero, Walker Buehler, in free agency. Buehler is projected to sign a two-year, $40 million deal, per Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

“Buehler threw four scoreless innings in his lone NLCS appearance and five scoreless innings in his World Series start. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Buehler pitched on just one day of rest and closed out the World Series by recording a one-two-three ninth with a pair of strikeouts. He closed out the postseason with 13 consecutive scoreless innings,” Rotman wrote. “Is this enough to believe he’s an ace again? No, but there is reason to believe Buehler can be a valuable player to bring in on a one or two-year deal. The upside is there. The history of postseason success is there. David Stearns had success with Luis Severino and Sean Manaea — two reclamation projects — this past season. Perhaps Buehler can be in the same boat.”

Buehler would be right up the Mets’ alley and he would come fairly cheap. New York could likely get the best out of the right-handed pitcher as he looks to prove himself following his most recent arm injury.
