Manchester City considered signing £10.4m Nottingham Forest player this summer

Manchester City competed with Nottingham Forest to recruit Murillo in the summer. The Reds midfielder was given another start in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.

Murillo did not let us down. After a jinxing run, he exhibited the swashbuckling style of a seasoned Premier League centre-back and almost opened his account.

The Reds had to fight hard to sign the uncompromising centre-back, according to The Athletic. After attentively tracking his improvement, City pondered making a move.

Manchester City was interested in Murillo before Forest swooped in.
This is absolutely remarkable. The player was signed by Forest from Corinthians. He graduated from an academy that takes great satisfaction in the success tales that come out of it.

Forest paid just £10.4 million for Murillo during the summer transfer window. That already feels like a steal for the Reds and in two games he showcased real class.
