Former LSU TE Thaddeus Moss announces retirement

“It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn’t matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over. Thank You #Retired,” Moss wrote.

Thaddeus Moss, son of NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Randy Moss, played at NC State before transferring to LSU. He was part of the 2019 team with Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase that achieved a 15-0 season and won the National Championship. In the championship game against Clemson, Moss made five catches for 36 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Moss declared for the NFL Draft in 2020, leaving LSU, and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Washington Commanders for one season. After his release from Washington, he joined the Cincinnati Bengals, reuniting with former LSU teammates Burrow and Chase for the 2021 season. Moss was released by the Bengals in September 2022. In 2023, he played in the USFL with the Birmingham Stallions and had a brief stint with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL earlier this year. Moss has not disclosed his reasons for retiring or his future plans.
