Kylian Mbappe ‘could be tempted’ to join Liverpool as Mo Salah opens door for PSG transfer

Liverpool remain a potential transfer destination for Kylian Mbappe if he leaves PSG next summer, according to a new report.

Mbappe’s contract with PSG ends at the conclusion of the current season, and it appeared for much of the summer that he would leave after proclaiming that he would not exercise an option in his contract.

However, after being barred from first-team training in July, the club stated that he will be reintegrated following productive talks prior to their 0-0 draw against Lorient on the opening day of the Ligue 1 season.

Mbappe has five goals in three league outings since returning to the team.

According to L’Equipe, the France international is willing to leave a £100 million loyalty bonus included in his PSG contract ‘on the table’.

If he leaves PSG, it is widely expected that he would join Real Madrid this summer, since the club decided not to replace Karim Benzema during the current transfer window.

However, Liverpool are said to be still a possibility, especially given Al Ittihad’s interest in Mohamed Salah.

Kylian Mbappe ‘may be tempted by a move to Liverpool’

According to L’Equipe, if Liverpool makes a proposal for Mbappe, he may be ‘tempted’ by the offer.

They reportedly recollect Mbappe meeting with Reds representatives and owner John W Henry in 2017 while flying over the Cote d’Azur.

Mbappe, who is expected to win the Ballon d’Or in the future, told Spanish newspaper Marca last year: “I have spoken to Liverpool because red is my mother’s favorite color and she loves Liverpool.” Why? I’m not sure.

“We met with them a few years ago in Monaco.” It’s a fantastic club.”

If the Reds decide to sell Salah to the Saudi Pro League this summer, they may be able to afford a massive bid for Mbappe.

The Saudi league has already made a £150 million deal to capture Salah for Al Ittihad, which has been turned down by the Reds. The club and manager Jurgen Klopp have both stated that the Egyptian winger is not for sale.

The league, however, will not be deterred, according to The Sun, and will return with an eye-watering £215 million bid for the 31-year-old this week. The transfer window in the Saudi Pro League concludes on Thursday, September 7.
