Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto is the subject of fresh Premier League interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

According to London World journalist Rahman Osman, Spurs are keeping an eye on the situation of Gnonto as they look to bolster their attack following the sale of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

Spurs will have plenty of cash to spend between now and the end of the window having received £100 million from the Bundesliga champions for their record goal scorer.

However, Spurs owner Daniel Levy is a notoriously tough negotiator and if they are indeed keen on signing Gnonto, they certainly will not pay over what they believe he is worth

So, with that in mind, Leeds should look to use Spurs’ interest to their own advantage in terms of strengthening a position they were just hours away from adding Max Aarons to last week.

Leeds should use Spurs’ Gnonto interest to land Spence deal

Based on Leeds’ willingness to pay £12 million for Aarons, it is clear they see right-back as an area that needs addressing in the next couple of weeks.

One player who could be perfect at Spurs is Djed Spence, who, as per the Evening Standard, will be allowed to leave the club this summer with Emerson Royal and Pedro Porro both ahead of him.

Spurs splashed £20 million to sign Spence only 12 months ago following a superb loan spell at Nottingham Forest in the Championship, helping them win promotion.

Spence was hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Ian Wright after an FA Cup win over Arsenal with Forest back in 2022, and so the 23-year-old clearly has ability in abundance despite his tough spell at Spurs.

If Cody Drameh is not going to be handed the opportunity to impress, Leeds are in desperate need of some fresh blood at right-back with Luke Ayling continuing to struggle and in need of replacing.

Spence’s pace and dynamism from full-back would be the perfect addition, and if Leeds can look to use him in a deal that sees Gnonto go to Spurs while also receiving a fee, it is a win-win.
