Leeds have a 23-year-old who’s now said to be as valuable as Mykhaylo Mudryk

Leeds United may have been relegated to the Championship, but their roster still has considerable worth.

One such player is Whites goalkeeper Illan Meslier, who was retained by the Elland Road club following their relegation.

Although the Leeds gem struggled at times last season, he has looked much better this term.

Meslier’s value appears to be on par with that of several major Premier League players.

According to the CIES Football Observatory, the Leeds star is worth €30 million (about £25.8 million).

This puts him on par with Mykhaylo Mudryk, a recent big-money Chelsea signing.

On the internet, the Ukraine international is worth the same as the Leeds stopper.

Mudryk eventually joined the Premier League club in January for a whopping £88.5 million.

While he has exhibited flashes of brilliance, he has yet to shine consistently.

Meanwhile, Meslier has had many strong performances for Leeds and will be hoping to help the team return to prominence.

The Frenchman joined Leeds on loan before securing a permanent deal with the club in the summer of 2020.

Leeds is said to have paid around £5 million to sign Meslier from the 2002 French Cup champions.

He has already made 131 competitive appearances for the Elland Road club despite being only 23 years old.

Given that goalkeepers tend to peak later in their careers, it will be interesting to see how Meslier progresses.
