According to Football Insider, Nottingham Forest will earn £14 million from their front-of-shirt deal with Kaiyun Sports.

On August 30, the Premier League club announced a two-year agreement with the Asian digital sports platform.

Forest reportedly reduced their initial asking price of £10 million per season to £7 million in order to close the transaction.

Steve Cooper’s team went the most of the 2022/23 season without a front-of-shirt sponsor and was forced to do so again at the start of the current season.

However, Kaiyun Sports made their debut on the front of Forest’s shirts in their Carabao Cup second-round match against Burnley.

Forest’s arrangement has sparked debate, and they have been chastised for omitting to clarify that Kaiyun Sports’ principal business is gambling.

Premier League clubs voted in April to prohibit gambling sponsors from appearing on the front of their shirts by the end of the 2025/26 season.

Kaiyun Sports currently does not have a functional website in the United Kingdom and frequently promotes in Chinese, despite the fact that gambling is outlawed in the country.

Despite the criticism surrounding the transaction, the Premier League has accepted it.

Forest’s new front-of-shirt deal is worth £10 million, which places them ninth in the Premier League behind Everton and West Ham’s deals with Stake and Betway, respectively.

However, if Chelsea’s £40 million per season deal with Infinite Athlete is granted, they will undoubtedly fall farther down the list.

In other news, Sheffield United’s pursuit of former Nottingham Forest striker Andre Ayew has received a major boost.
