The Miami Dolphins seem to have most pieces in place for their future.

Obviously, all good things can get better, and they could certainly add more depth and talent to their defense, but it seems like they’re on the right path.

Nonetheless, some still continue to have serious concerns about Tua Tagovailoa and his status as their franchise quarterback, especially after watching him struggle so badly vs. the Kansas City Chiefs.

Still, former NFL player Willie Colon thinks there should be no doubt about Tua being the right guy for them for the next couple of years, at the very least.

Talking on The Carton Show, he stated that the Dolphins don’t really have another option or anyone who’s going to do a better job at the quarterback position than Tua, also showcasing his numbers from the regular season:

“I think Tua’s the future for the Miami Dolphins for the next few years. There’s nobody coming down the hatch that’s gonna play better than what Tua looks like this year,” Colon said.

Craig Carton agreed with his take, adding that the Dolphins allowed a 95-yard punt returned for a touchdown in that regular-season finale vs. the Buffalo Bills that changed the entire momentum of the game, and that was the end of the story.

The Dolphins haven’t fared well in the blistering cold, and neither has Tua.

That loss to the Bills could’ve cost them at least one postseason win.

Some of the skepticism is granted, but he also deserves credit for his steady and continuous progress.

Also, he’s not the only one to blame for their shortcomings against winning teams, and that’s an issue the entire team will need to address, coaching staff included.
