Aston Villa ‘initiate contact’ to sign £12.8m Wolves and Nottingham Forest target
The latest transfer news as Premier League trio Aston Villa, Wolves and Nottingham Forest battle for a £12.8m Dortmund outcast.
Aston Villa have reportedly enquired to Borussia Dortmund about the availability of United States international attacker Giovanni Reyna, joining two other Premier League clubs in the race for his signature.
Thought of as one of the most exciting young talents on the planet when he made the move to Dortmund in July 2019, Reyna had the world at his feet as far as wonderkids go. Four-and-a-half years on, however, the versatile attacking midfielder is merely a bench option for BVB.
Reyna was a regular throughout his first full season in Germany as he notched four goals and seven assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances. Game time has reduced ever since, though, with just 1,279 league minutes accumulated over the last two-and-a-half campaigns combined.
