Josh Downs is a wide receiver for the North Carolina Tar Heels football team. He’s known for his speed, agility, and ability to make big plays on the field. Born on December 18, 2001, Downs hails from Suwanee, Georgia. He attended North Gwinnett High School, where he excelled in football and track and field. Downs committed to play college football at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

In his freshman season with the Tar Heels in 2020, Downs showed promise as a receiver, making contributions to the team. However, it was during the 2021 season that he truly made his mark. Downs emerged as a favorite target for quarterback Sam Howell, showcasing his speed and route-running ability. He had several standout performances, including a memorable game against Wake Forest where he recorded 11 receptions for 203 yards and three touchdowns.
