Steve Bull explains what Wolves must do this season as Gary O’Neil verdict given

Birmingham Wolves latest newsLive gives you Steve Bull’s views following the Old Gold’s rocky start to the season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers merely need to survive this season before embarking on what might be a meaningful campaign next year, according to Steve Bull.

Wolves were financially constrained this summer as a result of Financial Fair Play. Despite this, the club signed six players, including Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Santiago Bueno, Enso Gonzalez, Matt Doherty (free), Tom King (free), and Tommy Doyle on loan from Manchester City.

The Old Gold endured a terrible summer as key players left Molineux. In addition, Julen Lopetegui left a few days before the season began.

Conor Coady and Nathan Collins joined Leicester City and Brentford, respectively, as part of the summer transfer window. Wolves have surrendered 11 goals in their first five games and have lost four of them.

While Bull acknowledges that his old club will have a challenging season, he believes it is critical that they keep their Premier League status. “[Have to] survive,” he told BT Sport of Wolves’ chances this season.

“That’s it for this year; I think we just need to stay in the top flight and then go again next season with some bigger signings.” When I look at this team, I notice that they can be a little weak in the back.”

Wolves have won twice in six games in all competitions under O’Neil. “I don’t think we spent a lot of money, and he’s got a lot of work ahead of him, but he did a great job at Bournemouth,” Bull said.

“Now it’s about getting that group of players he has together in the right way, in the right shape.” I’m confident it’ll go well for him; everyone here adores him. I realize the results haven’t appeared yet, but they will.”
