Jersey Flegg Highlights: Big comeback victory

The Jersey Flegg Cup saw another thrilling comeback victory by the One New Zealand Warriors, who managed to defeat the high-flying Roosters 20-16 in a dramatic 13th-round clash held in Sydney. This victory follows a similar comeback win against Melbourne in the previous round, where the Warriors recovered from a significant halftime deficit to secure a 28-24 victory.

In their latest game against the Roosters, the Warriors started strong with early tries by Alvin Chong Nee and Rodney Tuipulotu Vea, establishing a 12-0 lead within the first 16 minutes. However, the Roosters fought back in the second half, scoring four consecutive unconverted tries to take a 16-12 lead with just nine minutes left on the clock.

The Warriors showcased their resilience and determination once again, with a crucial try by Raphael Sio and a successful conversion by Maui Winitana-Patelesio reclaiming the lead at 18-16. These consecutive victories highlight the Warriors’ fighting spirit and ability to perform under pressure, moving them up to 11th place on the ladder. They continue their campaign with a match against the Silvertails in Fiji next weekend.
