Seriously Collins, a tribute to Phil Collins and Genesis, will be in the town on Sunday.

Phil Collins is a name synonymous with 80s pop music, but his career spans far beyond that decade.

Initially finding fame as the drummer for progressive rock band Genesis, Collins stepped into the spotlight as lead vocalist when Peter Gabriel departed.

His powerful voice and catchy melodies propelled Genesis to even greater heights.

Simultaneously, Collins cultivated a highly successful solo career, with many hits dominating charts worldwide.

His music, characterised by its emotional depth and commercial appeal, resonated with millions.

Beyond music, Collins ventured into acting, starring in films like Buster and earning an Academy Award nomination for his song Two Hearts.

A true showman, Collins’ energetic live performances cemented his status as a global icon.

While health challenges forced him to step back in recent years, his enduring legacy as a versatile and influential artist remains undeniable.

On the Witham show, a spokesman said: “A tribute to one of the biggest artists and bands of our generation.

“Packed with hits such as In The Air Tonight, Another Day In Paradise, Easy Lover, Against All Odds, Invisible Touch, Sussudio and more, this two-hour show will take you back to Phil and Genesis in their heyday.

“All this performed by Chris Hayward and his ten-piece band, including the ‘Serious Horn Section’.”

Seriously Collins will be at the Witham Public Hall on Sunday, August 4.
