Notre Dame has a team that can win it all this season. Even before the Fighting Irish went to Texas A&M and got a 23-13 victory, it was clear that they were going to field a terrific team this fall under coach Marcus Freeman.

Enter general manager Chad Bowden, director of scouting Matt Jansen and director of player personnel Zaire Turner, among others, inside the Gug at Notre Dame.

They wanted to make a move with the transfer portal, and that’s exactly what took place.

Name, image and likeness (NIL) is very much a thing when it comes to recruiting and the transfer portal. It’s no longer something you whisper about.

In a lot of cases, it’s front and center and the driving factor behind some decisions. Like it or not, it’s here and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

With Bowden and Jansen running the show on that front, let me make it very clear that Notre Dame is in very good hands.

Before he was promoted from director of recruiting, Bowden made it clear that he wanted to continue revamping the roster. He and Freeman aren’t looking to just win games — they are looking for national championships.

This duo is always looking to add quality to a loaded group. Feelings aside, the cream will rise to the top, and that is why they aren’t afraid to go after the top recruits in America and the top transfers across college football.
