Injury Report: Update on SJ’s recovery

Shaun Johnson, a halfback for the New Zealand Warriors, is healing as anticipated following the ankle injury he sustained during practice last week.

The 33-year-old playmaker will be added to the early portion of the return to run program the following week while he heals from a mild ankle strain.

Johnson will undoubtedly be available for the team’s Friday, March 8 first-round match at Go Media Stadium against Cronulla Sutherland.

After undergoing surgery to repair his scaphoid earlier in the summer, winger Ed Kosi is making progress toward team training.

Although he has been jogging the entire time, he is still only allowed limited contact in an effort to be available for the season’s opening games.
Demitric Sifakula, a rookie back rower in 2023, is making good progress following ACL surgery, according to head of performance Balin Cupples.

Sifakula is steadily gaining strength in preparation for his anticipated midseason return. He is well into his first running block.
