Austin Corbett Ruled Out for Remainder of Season

Some unfortunate news for the Panthers’ starting right guard.

Wednesday afternoon, the Carolina Panthers announced that starting right guard Austin Corbett has been placed on injured reserve and will be out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury. It is the same knee that he suffered a torn ACL in last season, but the ACL was not involved, according to the team report.

Corbett played in just four games this season.

Carolina also announced that cornerback Dicaprio Bootle will hit injured reserve with a knee injury. Bootle worked his way into a starting role with several corners being beat up and he took advantage of his opportunity, showcasing that he can play in the NFL. He recorded 14 tackles and two pass breakups in eight games (two starts). Fortunately, the Panthers feel good about the progress that Jaycee Horn (hamstring) and C.J. Henderson (concussion protocol) are making.

In further roster movement, the Panthers signed back veteran offensive lineman Justin McCray and cornerback AJ Parker to the practice squad.
