‘He’s excited’: Leeds told their new signing can be ‘better’ than £21m Orta recruit

According to Angus Kinnear of The Square Ball podcast, Leeds United have signed a player in Jaidon Anthony from Bournemouth who may be better than the man he replaces, Luis Sinisterra.

Anthony, 23, has made an impression in England’s second division, contributing to 15 goals in 50 appearances. On his resume, he has promotion from the Championship. This term, he got off to a good start at The Vitality.

Before transferring to Elland Road, he started two of Bournemouth’s first three games. Sinisterra will join Bournemouth, returning to the Premier League in the last minutes of the transfer window.

Leeds CEO Kinnear discussed Sinisterra and Anthony switching clubs. He made it apparent that the Colombian had to and desired to go. He also claims that Anthony was a target for Leeds at the start of the transfer window.

“He was on our radar from the start of the window, but he appeared to be central to Bournemouth’s plans.” We’d had enough. On the last day, he came together. Jaidon is genuinely looking forward to being here.

“We lost a player who didn’t want to be here in the first place.” It’s disheartening because we had a player like Luis who we wanted to keep until the very last second. He was eager to go to any length. That was something we had to accept.

“We had to make sure we brought in a player who wanted to be here and who we think is an adequate replacement and, if you take his availability into account, potentially a better replacement,” Kinnear explained.

Kinnear believes Anthony can outperform Sinisterra at Leeds.
Anthony possesses a quality that Sinisterra lacks: durability. The physical ability to travel to England and play on a regular basis. His body can handle the stress. Anthony understands what the Championship entails.

He understands how to get out of it. He is a player who can assist Leeds in climbing out of this division. However, it will be intriguing to observe which of Dan James, Willy Gnonto, or Anthony Daniel Farke prefers on the wing.

Cree Summerville appears to be moving into the attacking midfield roles, with Georgie Rutter possibly moving out wide. After a strong pre-season, Ian Poveda has been retained as a back-up.
